RockStars Glee Club

The new RockStars Glee Club was designed for vocalists and instrumentalists alike to gain performance experience while learning valuable techniques and secrets taught only by the most advance pro's in southern california. RockStars Glee is open to students from all over Orange County, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Westminster and Newport Beach.RockStars Music Studios is proud announce that we’re forming our very own Glee Club! In addition to joining our Live Band Workshop bands on stage for our RockStars Concerts, eventually this group will be able to perform on it’s own in venues around Huntington Beach and surounding areas. Below is a brief description of the group and some reasons why we believe it is a great program for just about anybody.

The RockStars Pop Singers group will consist of all vocal students who would like to perform at our RockStars Live Band Concerts. Students will meet one to two times per month to rehearse concert material, learn and practice sight-singing (music reading), learn about vocal harmonies, group singing, and expand their overall abilities. The skills developed in these workshops are vital for any vocalist or musician who desires to perform in any respect.

Who Can Audition

Currently, we are opening up auditions to all students in the school age eleven and up. As the size of the group increases, we will then split into two groups, a high school age performance group, and a junior high performance group. Auditions are Sunday, August 15th from 2:30-4:00pm, please email or call (714) 962-8525 to set up an audition appointment.

How does this affect the RockStars Concerts?

Only students performing in this group will be permitted to sing at the RockStars Live Band Concerts. All other students will still have two opportunities per year to perform at our Soloist Concerts. Which follows the same philosophy of our Live Band Workshop program that has been running for over two years now. These students work incredibly hard for six months on the material for each concert, and it is only fair to expect the same level of commitment from the students fronting their group. We are very excited to see the talent level of each of our vocalists continue to rise through their involvement in this program, just as we have seen with our Live Band Workshop students.

Why should I want to be a part of this group?

There are a million reasons I could list, but I’ll give you the most important three:

1. Personal Development: Our performing groups are not just challenged to learn a song part. They are taught about accountability, responsibility, being a responsible member of a team, and how to constantly work to better yourself through music. It is very easy for a student to take a lesson once a week, go home, practice a little, and come back the next week. When they are part of a group where people rely on them, everything changes. If they are unprepared, they receive the negative reinforcement of letting the group down. If they are on top of their game, they receive the positive reinforcement of being a leader of that group and helping the others along. They are immediately taken out of their comfort zone and brought to a new level.

2. Preparation for Advanced Performance Groups: If your student is considering an audition for APA, OCHSA, or any high school choir, they will not survive without the skills taught in these workshops. All incoming APA vocal students are not given lead parts on songs, and most of the time, they are only assigned to understudy shows. If they are privileged enough to be chosen for a main stage show, it will be as a back up vocalist. These singers must be able to learn a harmony part and perform it with absolute precision, otherwise it will be handed to a student who has the skills necessary to perform that part. This is exactly what we’ll be teaching and covering, only on a much higher educational level.

3. RockStars Concerts: Thanks to the amazing performances at our Rose Center Concert and July 3rd Concert, opportunities are finally opening up for the school to offer our students legitimate public performance opportunities. As always, we will be striving to continually provide better and more exciting performance opportunities to our students. The only way to be a part of this experience is as a singer in the Pop singers group. We have some very exciting material in store for next year’s summer concert that we are going to begin working on this year. In addition, the opportunity to perform at Bella Terra in front of hundreds of city residents will be an experience on par with our July 3rd event. We hope your students will be excited enough to go on this journey with us. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to call (714) 962-8525 or email.
